IMPORT EMPLOYEE DETAILS
This utility facilitates fast, effective import of employees from the previous tax year. Employees that have left your employment last year, or have a nil pay record, and have been issued with a P45, will NOT be imported into this tax year's payroll.
Before proceeding, please ensure that all P45s have been issued in the previous tax year.
To access this utility go to File> Import Employee details from previous tax year>
Ø Select the location of your previous years payroll (if different from default drive & directory) i.e. C:\ThesaurusPayroll2013
Ø Select Company name and Click Import
Bureau users will be given the option to import employee files for ALL companies at once or one at a time.
Ø If you would like the program to automatically import employee details for ALL companies Click Yes
The employee details are imported as they are shown in 2013 at the time of import into 2014 Payroll Manager. If you make subsequent changes to the 2013 employee files, e.g. amend personal details of an employee, then you must make the corresponding amendment to the 2014 record.
If you issue a P45 to an employee in 2013 and you have already imported to 2014 then, if there has net been a payroll update in 2014, the employee can be deleted from 2014 by simply going to Employees> Add/Amend Employee> Select employee and click the Delete button from the listing.
Ø If you would like to import employee details for individual companies - Click No, Select company name, Click Import
Ø Repeat this step for each company, as you finalise their payroll for the previous tax year
The employee details are imported as they are shown in 2013 at the time of import into 2014 Payroll Manager. If you make subsequent changes to the 2013 employee files after import, e.g. amend personal details of an employee, then you must make the corresponding amendment to the 2014 record.
*Important Note: Benefit in Kind details will be imported from the previous tax year for your convenience. Please check that details imported are still relevant to this tax year and that benefit details are complete. Benefit in Kind details can be checked if you - Go to Employees > Update employee benefits >
Dates relating to Annual benefits should be updated.
